Suffolk Care Homes for the Elderly

Each situated in lovely settings, Swan & Cygnet Care provides four residential care homes for retired people in search of first-class care, good company and the ongoing pursuit of their interests – as well as their home comforts! We also provide respite care services that cater for all needs, including for those with dementia.

As a local family-owned and run organisation, we pride ourselves in always looking to improve the services we offer at our residential care homes in Suffolk and Norfolk, ensuring that our residents always come first. We are assisted in achieving this by our really loyal, knowledgeable and experienced management teams, all of whom have been with us for several years, as well as our dedicated and friendly staff, who each receive training in the very latest care techniques from our full-time, in-house Training Manager.

Our managers maintain the culture within each care home, recruiting the right staff, ensuring motivation and the best possible person-centred care for residents and short-stay visitors alike. Happiness is key throughout the procedure and our care homes are warm, welcoming places where residents are as active and stimulated as they wish to be – which is why all of our homes have a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator.

Our care homes are:

Manor House & Lodge – is situated in the pleasant village of Blofield, seven miles east of Norwich. Shops are close at hand and there is a regular bus service into the ‘Fine City’ of Norwich, just seven miles away.

Manor House & Lodge stands in extensive gardens and enjoys delightful views over surrounding farmland. Its structure is a combination of the original Manor House, formerly a charming farmhouse, and a custom-designed, state-of-the-art dementia care facility – Manor Lodge – which was opened in October 2012.

The House, despite having been completely refurbished to a high standard, still retains many of the quaint original features and lovely atmosphere, giving it a real homely feel. The addition of the Lodge built upon these qualities, bringing new experience and expertise with its wonderful, friendly team of staff dedicated to becoming a really first-class example of how people with dementia can be supported within a caring environment.

Together, they provide residential and respite care within a lovely environment featuring small-group dining areas, light and airy communal lounges, skilful use of space and colour schemes, and well laid-out gardens and patio areas for residents to sit and relax. Residents are also encouraged to add their own belongings to their rooms to make their private space as familiar as possible.
